Privacy Policy

Last updated 1 October 2026

Slow Stoic is made by [OWNER NAME], [COUNTRY] ("we"). This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your journal never leaves your phone, we don't use analytics or ads, and we don't sell data.

Your journal

Everything you write in the morning ritual and the evening review, your name if you give one, your reminder times and your saved quotes are stored only on your device. They are not uploaded, synced or analysed. Deleting the app deletes them.

Conversations with the philosophers

When you write to Marcus, Seneca or Epictetus, the app asks for your permission first. After that, each message you send, together with the last few messages of that conversation, which philosopher you are writing to and the app language, is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic, the company that runs the AI model that writes the reply.

Subscriptions

Slow Stoic+ is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether a subscription is active. RevenueCat receives the random, anonymous app ID and your purchase history from Apple. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Reminders

Morning and evening reminders are scheduled on your device. No server is involved.

What we don't do

No analytics, no advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no selling or sharing of personal data.

Not medical advice

Slow Stoic is for reflection. It is not a medical or mental-health service, and the AI replies are not professional advice. If you are struggling, please contact a professional or someone you trust, and in an emergency your local emergency services.

Children

Slow Stoic is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Because we don't keep personal data about you beyond the short-lived counters and reports described above, there is usually nothing for us to give you or delete. You can still contact us at any time, and if you are in the EU or EEA you have the rights the GDPR gives you, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. Questions: support@slowstoic.com.
